Durga puja celebration by Bihar Lok Manch is a humble
beginning 27 years back has evolved into a tradition. Though
the winter brings chill in the air, we looks for the warmth
that Durga Puja promises to bring along.
For some it is an opportunity to offer ‘pushpanjali’ or
praying for the well being of their near and dear, for many
people it means get together with the people sharing same
State, Zone and even Villages, for others it an opportunity to
remember Godess 'Durga' for at least 10 days, many enjoy the
cultural events performed by people from the the native land
of Bihar, and equally enthusiastic and talented Young buds of
Bihar living in Delhi. And for the puja committee these are
the anxious days for they want to be sure that all go well.
This celebration is also a forum for the Maithil People to
have aquantace with the culture of native land Bihar.
Bihar Lok Manch which is providing all these a Constitutional
Body elected by proper method supervises this religious
ceremonies including Saraswati Puja and Holi Milan. People
belong to Bihari Culture living in Delhi actively participate
in the cultural programs.
The Society, as it was conceived, has continually increased
its activities organizing various cultural programmes and
events spanning the year. Society’s annual calendar now
includes Saraswati Puja, Holi Milan and Durga Puja
celebrations. Welcoming the all important monsoon which brings
in guarantee of prosperity and inspires many poetic
expressions. The Society is working ceaselessly to bring
Mithila's rich literary and artistic heritage to our children
so that their identity is not lost in the fast changing and
ever gaining pace of life. Society is now over 1000 members
strong and is gaining strength at every event during the year.
Society give thanks to their member to be part to introduce
our Great tradition and culture to our children.
